WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE

Mike Zito performs at Sam's Burger Joint and Music Hall Nov. 25, 2011.

In a few weeks I’ll be going back to St. Louis for my high school reunion.

Class of ’75.

That means 40 years, for those of you who aren’t quick with your math skills.

Mike is proud of his St. Louis roots.

Twenty-one of those years were in the Air Force. Of the remaining 19, I’ve spent five reacquainting myself with my love of live music and photography.

About four years ago, that photography and live music world collided with my high school world when I saw Mike Zito play. Mike is also a graduate of Bishop DuBourg High School, albeit a few years after me. OK, more than a few… 14, to be exact.

I blogged about him then and now he’s coming back to San Antonio so y’all MUST go see him! Mike Zito and the Wheel will be at Sam’s Burger Joint and Music Hall Wednesday, Sept. 16. Doors open at 8 and the show starts at 9.

Support the blues in San Antonio and my fellow St. Louisan all in one night!

BTW, in my last blog about Mike he mentioned the National Blues Museum. It was support to open in 2013, and unfortunately, due to funding (or lack thereof), it’s not been pushed back to early 2016.

Mike Zito opened for the late, great Bugs Henderson at
Sam's Burger Joint and Music Hall in 2011.
